The Guardian
The Guardian is one of the most popular online news sources in the world, with millions of people viewing their content online through the web, mobile, and tablet. The site experience was outdated in the new mobile-first viewing habit. At the same time, the design also felt dated and didn’t enable the new kind of storytelling needed for a complex story such as Wikileaks. The challenge was to redesign the replatform and relaunch a new responsive digital experience. Enabling the best informative, educational and inspirational content to be consumed quickly and effortlessly.

The design thinking starts on paper and required a component based approach with an agile building methodology. Consideration was paid to the information content types, the frequency of updating and the responsive nature of the site.
Solution
A responsive site marries super fast load times with beautiful and vibrant content. The first of the prominent newspapers to create a fully responsive site, we made unique components to enable complex stories to become simplified and synchronous with numerous pieces of written content, whether reports, opinions, or photographic. We designed content aggregators, allowing the reader to have a single view of the content generated from multiple sources without the need to browse or leave the site.
